The production of color coated aluminum coil has developed for about three decades in China since 1990s when it was introduced from abroad. During the thirty years factories sprung up all over the country from the south to the north, contributing a lot to industries like construction, food packing, electric products, printing and transportation.
However, prosperity is accompanied by problems. Currently in China overproduction of common color coated aluminum coil has long been a serious problem, yet few factories are capable enough to supply products of high technology, high precision and top quality. Therefore, a seemingly strange phenomenon has lasted for years that China is on the one hand importing painted aluminum coil while on the other exporting it in large scales.
Based on the situation above, the main development direction of China color coated aluminum coil factories should be advanced equipment, high technology and top products. The industry should strive to have its own painting technology and production base, increase its equipment for 20,000 metric tons and above, produce top quality products of 2mm thick and above. Prediction shows that the productivity of the industry will increase stably by 8-10 percent per year, but technology will remain a real challenge.
